- For a more even finish, apply two or three thin coats of Slate instead of one thick coat.
- Allow each coat of Slate to dry completely before applying the next coat.
- If you are applying Slate to a vertical surface, start at the bottom of the surface and work your way up. This will help to prevent the Slate from dripping.
- You can also use Slate to create a variety of different effects, such as a metallic finish, a weathered finish, or a rusty finish. To do this, simply apply the Slate in different ways or use different tools to create the desired effect.

- Seal the Slate (optional): To protect the Slate from damage, you can seal it with a clear acrylic varnish. Apply a thin, even coat of varnish using a brush or roller. Allow the varnish to dry completely before handling.
